What we don't collect

Privacy by default means most of the data you might worry about never reaches us in the first place.

No accounts

We don't require signup, so we don't collect names, email addresses, or passwords. There's no user profile to build because there are no users to profile.

No file uploads

Most tools — image compressor, PDF compressor, JSON formatter, beautifiers — run in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

No selling your data

We don't sell, rent, or trade any data we collect to third parties. Analytics and ad providers have their own data handling, which we describe below.

What we do collect

To run the site, understand how it's used, and serve ads, we and our third-party services collect the following kinds of information:

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand which tools are popular, where visitors come from, and how the site performs. Google Analytics may collect:

Google Analytics' own privacy practices are covered by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising data

Tool pages display ads to support the site's running costs. Our ad providers may use cookies and similar technologies to:

Ad providers' data handling is governed by their own policies, which they make available through links in their ads or on their sites.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our server records basic information about each request: IP address, browser type, requested URL, response code, and timestamp. These logs help us debug issues, detect abuse, and maintain security. They're typically retained for a short period and not used for marketing.

Information you send us

If you contact us through our contact form or by email, we receive whatever you write — your name (if provided), email address, and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and follow up on your request.

AI-powered tools and third-party services

Some of our tools — including the AI Article Rewriter, AI Code Explainer, Blog Title Generator, Prompt Enhancer, and other AI features — need to send the text you enter to a third-party AI service (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) to generate a response. We can't run these models in your browser, so this data leaves your device.

A few things to know about how this works:

  • The text is sent to the AI provider, processed, and a response is returned.
  • We don't store the prompts or responses on our servers in association with you.
  • The AI provider may temporarily process your input according to their own retention and training policies.
  • Don't paste anything sensitive — passwords, financial information, personal medical details, confidential client work — into any AI-powered tool.

If this concerns you, simply use one of the non-AI tools instead. The JSON formatter, code beautifiers, image compressor, and most other tools never send your data anywhere.

Cookies and tracking

ToolsVenue uses cookies — small text files stored by your browser — for these purposes:

Necessary cookies

Required for the site to function — remembering your cookie preferences, ensuring security, and basic technical operations. These can't be disabled.

Functional cookies

Support optional features like content sharing on social media and gathering feedback through third-party tools.

Analytical cookies

Track visitor interactions anonymously — visitor count, bounce rate, traffic sources — to help us understand what's working and what isn't.

Advertising cookies

Deliver and measure ads, and reduce repeated ad exposure. These help fund the site so the tools stay free.

When you first visit the site, you'll see a cookie consent banner where you can accept, reject, or customise which cookie categories you allow. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the banner or by clearing your browser's cookies for this site.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, or request a copy of it. We'll do our best to respond to any reasonable request.

Things you can do directly

Things to email us about

For data access requests, deletion requests, corrections, or anything else regarding your data rights, email us at admin@toolsvenue.com. Mention "Privacy Request" in the subject line and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests, especially for data deletion or access.

Children's privacy

ToolsVenue is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we'll take appropriate steps to remove it.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's online activity and to use tools like browser parental controls to manage what sites are accessed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time — when we add new tools, change third-party services, or respond to legal updates. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this page occasionally. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Questions?

If anything in this policy is unclear, or you'd like more detail about a specific practice, get in touch. We'd rather over-explain than leave you wondering.
